FA Cup with Budweiser kicks off at DP Worldwide Freight sponsored Ascot United available to watch on Facebook!
DP Worldwide Freight's proud association with Ascot United Football Club took an unexpected turn recently following a series of incredible 'firsts' that sees the 'first kick' of this season's FA Cup with Budweiser being chosen to be played at the Berkshire, UK ground of Ascot United FC.
DP Worldwide Freight have been sponsors at the club for nearly 20 years and have seen the club develop beyond all recognition during that time into a strong community based club that is regarded as the largest grass roots club in the UK.
With over 800 players and 67 teams in junior, youth and adult football and a recently developed ground and community facilities alongside the Ascot Racecourse, the culmination of the club's progress has resulted in a first ever entry into the iconic FA Cup competition - the oldest Association football competition, followed throughout the world.
Coinciding with being accepted for the first time ever as one of 763 clubs entered into the competition, Ascot United were then remarkably drawn against Wembley FC in the extra preliminary round and with two teams closely associated with iconic sporting venues drawn out of the hat at this stage of the competition, Budweiser the new sponsors of the competition, have chosen the match as the 'first kick' for the whole competition which culminates with the Final at Wembley Stadium in May 2012.
The 'First Kick' match will also mark another world first as the game will be streamed live on Facebook to a huge audience globally.
